| ..... |
The Remembrance Courtyard and Columbarium The purpose of the Remembrance Courtyard and Columbarium of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church is to provide an appropriate, consecrated and well maintained place for the inurnment of cremated remains of Peachtree Road members and their families. The Courtyard will be a quiet place for rest, prayer and meditation. |

Administration The Remembrance Courtyard and Columbarium will be administered by the Senior Minister or his designee, a staff member from the Business Office, and six lay members of the Church, to be known as the Remembrance Courtyard and Columbarium Committee (hereafter called 'the Committee'). |

Inurnment The cremated remains of a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, their spouse, children, and grandchildren may be inured. Other family members may make an application and will be considered on an individual basis.
The cremated remains will be inured in a container as received from the crematorium or in a container furnished by the family. Only the cremated remains of one individual may be placed in a niche.
Niches shall be assigned by the Committee and the location of occupied or reserved niches shall be shown on a plan which shall be kept in the Church offices. To the extent practicable, the Committee will attempt to accommodate the wishes of the persons who have paid the applicable inurnment fee, to arrange for the inurnment of the remains of family members in contiguous niches.
The reservation of a Columbarium niche may not be transferred by the person to whom it is assigned, or by his legal representative, to anyone other than the Committee.
Each niche will originally have a blank granite faceplate. After inurnment has taken place, this will be covered with a bronze plaque inscribed with the name, birth date and death date of the individual, the cost of which is included in the inurnment fee.
There will be no inurnment in the Columbarium without a committal service approached by the Senior Minister of Peachtree Road UMC.
It is anticipated that the Columbarium will be available for the inurnment of the cremated remains of individuals in perpetuity. If the 568 spaces in the Columbarium are used, additional ones can be added on the outside wall of the sanctuary under the rose window facing Shadownlawn Drive.
The reservation or inurnment fee shall be $1200.00 for each niche, payable at the time of application. This fee provides for inurnment, the nameplate and perpetual care of the Courtyard. The amount of the fee may be changed at any time, at the discretion of the Committee.
Receipts from inurnment fees are held in a separate fund to be administered by the Committee. These funds will be used, to the extent necessary for all costs incident to the Courtyard, to include perpetual maintenance and care, any capital expenditures required in connection with the Courtyard and care of the surrounding area.
The Remembrance Courtyard and Columbarium Committee of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church specifically reserves the right to modify, amend, or revoke these regulation at any time. |

Application Arrangements for the inurnment of cremated remains, either your own or those of a member of your family, may be made by completing and signing, in duplicate, an application which is available from the Church offices. A check made payable to Peachtree Road United Methodist church should accompany the application.
Upon approval of the application by the Remembrance Courtyard and Columbarium Committee, an acceptance, together with the regulations of the Courtyard will constitute a contract between the applicant and Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.
The original contract will be kept in a permanent file in the Church offices. A copy of the contract will be given to the applicant.
