Penny Kennedy

When I was in the hospital for 13 days, fighting for my life with the Delta variant of COVID19 and pneumonia, members of my Blazers Sunday School class immediately started texting and calling me on my phone and my husband’s phone.  They would be praying for us and wanted to know what else they could do to help us.  Even though I was unable to answer in my condition, the texts continued to flow saying they were praying for me for the entire 13 days.

As I was fighting for every breath and praying, it meant the world to me to know that I had so many people praying for me, and I could feel the presence of God because of it.

Once I was dismissed from the hospital on oxygen and a walker, a gracious member of my Blazers Sunday School class organized a meal train with dinners to arrive every other day from August 21 to present day.  Phone calls, text messages, and get-well cards from members of my Blazers Sunday School class and PRUMC meant so very much to me as I was healing.  The wonderful staff at PRUMC called me weekly to check on the status of my health and to see if they could be of any service.

Blessed and Grateful – Penny Kennedy
