The Welcome Home House

A collaboration between PRUMC and COR, the Welcome Home House program seeks to build safe, stable housing for women returning to society from prison, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Peachtree Road United Methodist Church (PRUMC), a caring faith community located in Buckhead, and City of Refuge (COR), a faith-based organization based in Atlanta’s Westside, announced today the opening of their first Welcome Home House, a supportive, transitional house for women reentering society from prison. Atlanta Habitat for Humanity (Atlanta Habitat), one of the city’s leading affordable housing builders, constructed the four-bedroom, two-bathroom house located on Atlanta’s Westside.

Our 52nd Habitat Home

Habitat for Humanity - our 52nd home is built!

Thanks to all of the volunteers who, once again, built not just a house, but a HOME. On April 22, 2023, Peachtree Road UMC, in partnership with St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, completed our 52nd Habitat Home for LaQuita Boulware and her family. LaQuita worked alongside church volunteers every step of the way and we are thrilled that she can settle in a safe, affordable place that brings her peace.

Nurturing Academic Success

PRUMC & Agape Nurturing Academic Success in Our Children

North Atlanta High School senior Malachai was the deserving recipient of the 2023 Peachtree Road UMC Scholarship presented annually through Agape Youth and Family Ministries. We are so proud of the strength and growth of this young man who persevered through personal tragedy with the help of mentors and friends. Our own Josh Miles and Caroline Crawford were two of the many who leaned in and stayed close to Malachai, and helped him see the potential within himself. We are excited to announce that Malachai will be attending Georgia Tech this fall and the PRUMC Scholarship will help him with non-tuition university costs.

Agape Ministries continues to create supportive, encouraging communities that open paths to success for the children they serve. We are honored to be their partner. Well done Malachai!

Please enjoy the evening’s highlight in this video.
