Children's Ministry Vacation Bible School

Welcome to Children and Family Ministries at Peachtree Road!  It is our joy and privilege to help families grow in their faith together by supporting, nurturing and encouraging the tenets of our Christian faith.  It’s all about faith, fellowship, food and FUN as kids stay connected and build stronger relationships with their church friends Sunday mornings and beyond!

Ministry Information

Worship and Praise
3rd – 5th graders, 11:15 am, D302
Each Sunday morning our kids experience engaging worship, cool music, a relevant message and fellowship with friends.  Invite your friends and come join us!

W.O.W. ~ The Wonder of Worship
1st and 2nd graders, D317
During the school year children engage in fun, interactive learning experiences about baptism, communion, seasons of the church year, liturgy, music, prayer, outreach and all aspects of our traditional worship experience.  Ministers, program staff and other adult leaders in our congregation will be guest speakers, giving them an opportunity to form relationships with these leaders and better understand the joy of worship.

Young Worshipers
Pre-K and Kindergarten, D Bldg Classrooms
Children participate in the worship service through Children’s Moments, then attend a fun and energetic large group worship time with music, story and prayer.  They return to their classrooms for small group activities designed to draw them closer to God and Jesus.  **3 year olds remain in their classrooms for learning and activities.

United Methodist Kids Fellowship (UMKF)
Once a month on Sunday evenings during the school year For 3rd, 4th and 5th graders

Bible Olympics
Sundays, June through August, 10:00 am
Completed Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Teams of children compete individually and in groups. Activities center around FUN physical competition and answering Bible questions.

Mission Camp
3 days in June, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
Completed Kindergarten through 5th grade AND parent We partner with agencies in the city to serve others and share the love of Christ.

Vacation Bible School
4 days in Summer, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
4 years old (by June 1) through 5th grade.  Come for a great week of learning and sharing together. Children experience stories of our faith through storytelling, singing, crafts and play.

Lenten Family Journey
Evening during Lent, 5:30 – 7:00 pm
Families enjoy a “Seder” meal together, then travel through the events of Holy Week.

Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday before Easter, 10:00 am
Children ages 1 to 10 years old and their families enjoy egg hunts, rides and activities in a fun-filled morning with a visit from the Easter Bunny!

Blessing of the Animals
Sunday evening, early October
Outdoor fellowship, then special worship and pet blessing in the Sanctuary.

Advent Workshop
Sunday evening in Advent, 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Families gather for crafts galore as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ.  Devotional and dinner complete our celebration!

New to the Nursery
Twice a year, Sunday, 10:00 am
Introduction to Children’s Ministries and our Nursery at Peachtree Road.

Leaving the Nursery
Sunday, 10:00 am, Spring
Parents of rising 3 year olds learn about the next phase of Christian Education at PRUMC.

Marriage Enrichment
Programs designed to support healthy and happy marriage amidst the demands of raising a family. Topics include commitment, managing conflict, creating your future and building a family.

Parenting Topics
Throughout the year we offer programs designed to support and encourage parents in their role of raising happy, confident children with Christian values. Topics focus on promoting values and character in children, finding a balance in parenting. Our parenting programs have welcomed many expert guest speakers, such as John Rosemond, Tommy Newberry, Chap Clark, and including our very own Pastoral Counselor, Reverend Ron Greer, who is always a favorite guest speaker.

Sunday Morning Nursery
Sundays, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
Our youngest members, 6 weeks through 2 years old, learn love and affection through the care of dedicated staff and volunteers.

Special Needs Children
Sundays, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
At Peachtree Road, we celebrate and welcome all God’s children. Children ages 3 to 12 years old experience love and nurture with our trained “special needs buddies”. These compassionate volunteers help each child take part in age-appropriate classroom activities. Special needs families are provided with an opportunity to attend Sunday School and worship knowing their child is receiving excellent love and care.

Care and Concern Ministry
Families who are experiencing a crisis receive special care in tangible ways.

Weekday Drop In Childcare
The Drop-In Childcare Program provides a loving, Christian environment, enriching educational programs, and fun-filled activities for kids ages four months to six years. Parents can enjoy free time while their young children play with our wonderful caregivers.

The Drop-in Nursery is located in the PRUMC Children’s Building. Reservations can be made in person, or by contacting the Drop In Nursery at 404.240.8269 or drop-in@prumc.org. For more information on reservations, fees, policies, forms and more, please visit the Drop In page at www.prumc.org.

Evening Childcare
We offer evening childcare for many events, classes and services that take place throughout the year. Information for events will indicate if childcare is offered. Childcare reservations can be made at eveningchildcare@prumc.org.

Sunday School
10:00 am, Children’s Building
For children 3 years old through 2nd grade. The United Methodist curriculum, which introduces major Biblical characters and events, is enhanced by music, crafts, outreach projects and seasonal assemblies through the year.

Third Grade
Sundays, 10:00 am
Third graders recieve the gift of a Bible from their church family and begin an exciting journey through the major stories of our faith.

TEAM 45! 4th and 5th Graders
Sundays, 10:00 am
Our exciting format offers interactive, hands-on learning for our 4th and 5th grade children! Each week we gather together for energetic, fun Christian music and a skit with our Bible storyteller. We then move to smaller groups for discussion and activities based around our theme of the month.

WOW! The Wonder of Worship

All first and second grade students, together with their teachers, engage in interactive learning experiences about baptism, communion, seasons of the church year, liturgy, music, prayer, outreach, and all aspects of our worship experience. Be ready to get excited about worshiping God!

Summer Family Worship
Sundays, May 28 – August 20
During the relaxed days of summer, our 1st – 5th grade children may join their families in worship. Traditional worship is held in the Sanctuary at 8:45 and 11:15 am. New Traditions contemporary worship is held in the Harp Center at 11:15 am.

Children completed Kindergarten through completed 5th grade join us for a summer of hot competition! Children will gather each week in the Gym for team games and Bible learning. 5th graders can be Youth Junior Coaches.

Our children need loving adults to help them build and strengthen their foundation of faith. As you help change the life of a child, you will find yourself changed as well! Each day is sure to be a blessing to those we serve and to those of us who are serving others. You will enjoy special time with your child and with other PRUMC friends! Beginning March 1, register here.

Vacation Bible School

For children ages 4 (as of 6/1/17) through completed 4th grade. 5th graders can be Youth helpers. Many adult volunteers are needed, so come join us for 4 days of fun! Beginning March 1, register here.
