Water for Kenya 2018: KabaziWater for Kenya 2018: Kabazi

.

THANK YOU!  We distributed approximately 5000 water filters March 7 – 17, 2019!

In 2015 Peachtree Road UMC started a movement that we hoped would change the world.  We began a partnership with Start with One Kenya to bring water filters to people on this earth who were dying from bacteria in their water supply.

Prior to Christmas Eve 2015, we felt like a small drop in a giant bucket.  But on that one night, hope, love and grace overflowed our sanctuary and your donations bought and distributed 12,000 filters to the villagers of Lanet, Kenya.  We felt like a miracle had happened.  Our drop had become a wave.  Three years later, we are now part of a global solution of bringing clean water to Africa.

Water for Kenya 2018: Woman with Clean Water

We have now provided 39,000 filters to areas in Kenya.

Each filter given produces ten years of clean water for an entire household.  Your generosity has now positively changed the lives of almost a quarter of a million fellow humans.  The impact of our work is sustainable and grows exponentially.  The current 8.4 million dollar savings in medical treatments from using our filters will grow to 84 million dollars by 2028.  Data shows the PRUMC initiative has made a bigger impact on the world than the Millennium Challenge Corp’s 1 billion dollar project to improve water conditions.

Every ounce of clean water brings opportunity.  In the areas we have served, people are no longer sick.  Their good health brings normalcy and stability to their lives, and to the life of the community.  Our next wave of aid will help the area of Kabazi in Kenya.  This past spring the precarious water supply there was further complicated by a devastating dam break.  The UZima filters will clean 99.99999% of bacterial contaminates in their water and are vetted and recommended by the World Health Organization.  Our roll-out will begin early spring of 2019.
