Rev. Jamie Jenkins
I know that You are almighty and all-knowing. I know that You are always present with me. Nevertheless, some days I am overwhelmed. The conditions of my life and my world weigh me down.
Today I need Your grace and guidance. What to say. What to do. How to speak. How to act.
All-wise God, help me to honestly examine my thoughts, motives, and actions.
Move me to be spontaneous when needed and hesitant when appropriate.
Show me the full picture. The whole story.
Fill me with holy anger, but guard me against meanness and vindictiveness.
Loving God, lead me to do what is right and just, but keep me from jumping on any bandwagon. Direct my steps in the way of righteousness and justice. Show me the way through the smoke and fire of hatred and revenge.
Motivate me to acts of mercy and kindness. Justice and peace.
I confess that I have not always believed and behaved like a child of God and a disciple of Christ. Forgive my inactivity when harm is done to any one of
Your children. Forgive me for the times I have been silent when I should have spoken up. Forgive me when I have spoken and acted in ways that have caused harm. Have pity on me when I fail to love mercy. When I don’t act justly. When I don’t walk humbly.
Help me to see and do what is right in Your sight. To be courageous and bold when needed. And to be wise in all my ways.
Guard and guide my thoughts and deeds so that I follow Your will for my life and walk in Your way.
Keep me from succumbing to frustration, fear, and panic. Help me to be wise enough to heed credible information and advice while using common sense and good judgment.
Make me an instrument of Your peace, an advocate for justice, and an agent of reconciliation and healing.
As I ask these things for myself, I ask also for my church, my community, my city, my state, my nation, and the world.
In the peaceful and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

Rev. Daniel Ogle
We live in the joyous light of your Resurrection, even as we lament and grieve the pain and heartache that Covid-19 has unleashed upon our church, our community, our nation and our world
We are thankful that you are not a God who remains removed from our lives, but instead reaffirm with gratitude that you are with us even now. In Jesus Christ, you assumed every part of our lives, and because you have become like us in every way, there are no parts of our lives that are not held, redeemed and renewed in the light of your love.
Today, we pray for your wisdom to live with courage and faith amidst all the uncertainty that surrounds us.
Enlighten us, by your Holy Spirit, so that we can live with conviction and confidence in these uncertain days.
Empower us, by that same Spirit, so that we can bear witness to our Resurrection hope and intercede for those bearing heavy burdens.
Embolden us, as those inspired by your victory, and fueled by your Holy Spirit, to live in the light of your victory and transform us into living agents of your grace and mercy for the world that you love so much.
We pray in the name and power of the Risen Christ, the one who conquered the grave and who lives in eternal victory with you, and your Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.
