DESCRIPTION:Jeremy Filsell\nEngland native Jeremy Filsell is one of a remarkably few keyboard virtuosi who concertizes equally as organist and pianist and frequently performs recitals featuring both instruments. With piano concerto repertoire from Mozart to Rachmaninoff\, solo piano repertoire from Schubert to Howells to Gershwin\, and a vast organ repertoire including the complete works of Marcel Dupré (Gramophone proclaimed his recordings of the complete Dupré to be “one of the greatest achievements in organ recording”)\, his programs offer delightful variety\, interest\, and suave British pomp. Dr. Filsell was the Director of Music and Organist of St. Thomas Church\, Fifth Avenue in New York City from 2019 to 2025.. \nThe Atlanta Summer Organ Festival was established in 1995 to help increase classical music performances in the summer and PRUMC joined as a host in 2002.  To this day\, the festival continues the tradition of offering a series of wonderful venues for both established and talented rising young organists.\n$15 suggested donation\nDessert reception following the recital. \nTHIS RECITAL KICKS OFF THE ELIZABETH B. DESCRIPTION:The Music and Arts Program will host the third bi-annual Elizabeth B. Stephens International Organ Competition on June 25 – 28\, 2026.  It is designed to attract the very best young organists from around the world and will be centered on the Great Organ of the church.  Six organists will be invited to Atlanta to compete for prize money totaling $21\,000.  The competition will be judged by a jury of five of the world’s finest performers:  Jeremy Filsell (chair)\, Chelsea Chen\, Nicole Keller\, Thomas Ospital\, and William Fred Scott. \nFounded by the family of the late Elizabeth B.
