Rev. Daniel Ogle
You are the source of life, the giver of every good gift, and the one who not only welcomes us into your family but also names us as essential workers in your Kingdom labor.
We give you thanks for the abundance of gifts you have given to us and continue to bless us with. You are a God who is kind and generous, holy and gracious, slow to anger and filled with steadfast love—a God who remembers when we forget and makes a way when all we see in our path are obstacles.
We confess that it is all too easy to forget your generosity and kindness to us. We fail to remember the ways you have brought us through times in the past, and instead all too often choose to take confidence in our own strengths, talents, connections and abilities.
Forgive us, we pray, and remind us that our help comes in the name of the Lord. We pray that you would open our hearts to receive the gifts you want to give us. We pray that you would guide our steps so that we will walk in the way you would have us go. We pray for the wisdom and courage to be your church for such a time as this.
We pray for all of these things in the name of Jesus the Christ, who calls us beyond ourselves and into true life with you each and every day. Amen.
