Deep Waters Forum Series Welcomes Dr. Marshall Shepherd

This week’s forum spotlights the first principle of the United Methodist Social Principles — caring for our natural resources — and includes special guest speaker Dr. Marshall Shepherd, a leading expert in weather and climate. Dr. Shepherd is a former NASA Scientist, was a 2004 PECASE award recipient at the White House, and is the host of the only nationally-televised Sunday Talk Show focused on science, The Weather Channel’s Weather Geeks. An Irish Lenten Journey

Join us for a thought-provoking heart journey into the Lenten spiritual disciplines through the lens of Irish Christian tradition. During this study, we will examine the rich history and religious imagination of Celtic spirituality through prayers, readings, and Scripture. Each week, we will discuss key themes from assigned readings, view places and symbols important to Irish Christianity, and share ideas about applying such insights to our own lives. Register here.

2017 Trip:  The Journeys of Paul
June 29 – July 12, 2017, Italy, Greece, Malta & More
You are invited to join Rev. Bill and Wendie Britt and others from Peachtree Road for a 14-Day Journeys of Paul cruise. The Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas ship will sail roundtrip from Barcelona and visit significant sites of the Apostle Paul’s ministry including Rome, Athens, Corinth, Ephesus, and Malta. Other ports of call include Cannes (France), Florence and Pisa (Italy), and the Greek island of Santorini. There is also an optional Pre-Tour of Barcelona and a Post-Tour of Rome.

Deadline for registration is March 1. Registrations after that date will be subject to space availability and may incur an additional cost. Brochures are available at the church receptionist’s desk and in kiosks around the church.

Converge is a class geared toward young professionals in their late 20’s-mid 30’s. We study the Bible through a variety of lenses, and apply the teachings to our own lives through our fellowship and service. Join us for great discussion each week.
