An Irish Lenten Journey

Join us for a thought-provoking heart journey into the Lenten spiritual disciplines through the lens of Irish Christian tradition. During this study, we will examine the rich history and religious imagination of Celtic spirituality through prayers, readings, and Scripture. Each week, we will discuss key themes from assigned readings, view places and symbols important to Irish Christianity, and share ideas about applying such insights to our own lives. Register here.

Taking on a similar structure of the popular summer book club, participants are invited to read through What Did Jesus Ask? Christian Leaders Reflect on His Questions of Faith. Each chapter focuses on a question Jesus asked straight from scripture, and various authors reflect on the meaning behind what he asked. Join us for one session or all three and come prepared to discuss the key themes and topics. Contributors include Adam Hamilton, Walter Brueggemann, Sarah Young, and Amy Grant. Register here.

This week’s forum spotlights the first principle of the United Methodist Social Principles—caring for our natural resources—and includes special guest speaker Dr. Marshall Shepherd, a leading expert in weather and climate.

Dr. Shepherd is a former NASA Scientist, was a 2004 PECASE award recipient at the White House, and is the host of the only nationally-televised Sunday Talk Show focused on science, The Weather Channel’s Weather Geeks.
