Rev. Julie Wright

Rev. Julie Wright

Julie Wright is one of our Associate Ministers. She organizes activities and events for older adults as well as coordinates our homebound ministry.  Julie loves working with our seasoned saints, not only for their wisdom but also for the kind truths they share.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio but grew up in Chamblee and has lived in the Atlanta area since 1967 (before I-285 was built).  Julie’s been married to Tal for 35+ years. Tal retired from Georgia Power where Julie worked until their three children came along.  When she isn’t working, you will find her gardening, traveling, reading and being with family.

Her undergrad from Georgia State University is in Journalism with a specialization in Public Relations and Advertising.  Julie graduated with an M.A. in Christian Education from Asbury Seminary in May 2008, was commissioned as a provisional deacon in June 2009, and was ordained as a full connection deacon at Annual Conference in June 2014.  Julie loves to teach about Scripture.  Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.”  Her favorite scriptural passage is Acts 2:1-21 about Pentecost, the birthday of the church.  Prior to joining the staff at PRUMC, Julie served Roswell UMC as the Director of Adult Ministries.
