Fall Worship Series

Fruitful Worship Series

The theme for the fall here at Peachtree Road is “fruitful.”  Jesus once said that a tree is known by its fruit, and we all want to be known for lives that produce good fruit.  Therefore, each week during this series we will consider a different fruit of the Spirit as outlined in Galatians 5: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  We will focus upon how to cultivate this fruit and bless the lives of others.  We hope you will join us in being “fruitful!”

World Communion Sunday

Sunday, October 7, 2018
Christians celebrate communion in as many ways as there are congregations.  We are connected through this act and celebrate our unity on the first Sunday of each October.  Join us as we break bread together, affirm our connectedness, and celebrate the grace of God and the hope of Jesus Christ.  We are blessed to be reminded that this table is open to all in our global community of faith.

All Saints Sunday

Sunday, November 4, 2018
Hebrews 12 reminds us that a “great cloud of witnesses” surrounds and encourages us. On All Saints Sunday, we give thanks for this witness – for the saints who have gone before us, and those still leading us in our faith. We remember that we are a living history, with God’s Spirit continually working in, and through us.

End the Lord’s day with beautifully sung prayer by the Chancel Choir and Georgia Boy Choir. The marriage of music and text reminds us “to remember thy servants, Lord.” Music by Craig Phillips, Friedell, and Locklair. Holy Communion will be celebrated during the service.

The Wonder of Christmas Worship Series

On Sunday, December 2, we will begin our advent journey with a series of messages entitled “The Wonder of Christmas.”  During this time of the year we often become overwhelmed with the busyness of the season, including special events, shopping, and parties.  Our emphasis this year is intended to help you slow down, remember the true meaning of this season, and rediscover the wonder of Christmas.
