Fall Worship Series

The Road to Character Sermon Series

The Road to Character

In his letter to the Christians in Rome, the Apostle Paul wrote:

“…we boast in our sufferings, knowing suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” – Romans 5:3-5

In other words, we do not suffer in vain. I love the way Paul reframes our suffering in hope-filled terms. God takes our suffering and redeems it, granting us endurance, strong character, and, finally, a life filled with hope. In the midst of the current pandemic, that thought lifts my spirits!

During our fall series, we will further explore the qualities of a life of character: faithfulness, generosity, integrity, courage, forgiveness, and humility. Join us each week on the “Road to Character.”

We hope you will join us in worship as we seek to live God’s call to be a light to our community.
