The Centennial Capital Campaign
Honoring God’s Faithfulness
For 100 years, Peachtree Road United Methodist Church has been a beacon of faith, love, and service in Atlanta. As we celebrate a century of God’s faithfulness, we also look ahead with gratitude for all that has been and with bold hope for all that can be. The Centennial Capital Campaign has been created to help us mark this milestone with joy and purpose. It allows us to honor our legacy and equip our church for the next century of ministry, mission, and transformation. Through your generosity, we will bring to life exciting projects that reflect who we are and who we are becoming.
The duration of the Centennial Capital Campaign is a period of three years. The determining pledge period will take place from April 27 to May 18, 2025. The commitments received in this six-week time frame will determine the campaign’s final course.*

Rollins Center Canopy
An extended covered drop-off area at the Rollins Center will provide a safer, more convenient arrival experience for all who enter our church. Designed with older adults, families with young children, and those with mobility challenges in mind, this improvement ensures easy access in all weather conditions. This addition reflects our commitment to creating a welcoming environment.

New HVAC Chiller
Last year, our church faced an unexpected challenge—our two main chillers, which had provided cooling for nearly 30 years, failed. Facing the heat and humidity of Georgia, we replaced the chillers at a cost of $3.2 million, which we borrowed from Truist Bank. This campaign will allow us to retire that debt and restore financial flexibility for future projects that will further our mission.

Centennial Events
As part of our 100-year celebration, we continue our 2024/2025 series of worship, concerts, and events that share our joy and history with the greater Atlanta community. Upcoming events include Celebrating 100 Years of Music, Commemorative Worship with Bishop Robin Dease, and the Centennial Finale Birthday Celebration, which will be a memorable evening of southern hospitality!

Labyrinth & Amphitheater
Nestled behind the Don and Mary Ellen Harp Student Center, the prayer labyrinth and amphitheater will serve as a unique, spiritual space for prayer, worship, and reflection. Here, visitors can connect with God in various ways amid the beauty of nature. Designed as a journey of contemplation, the labyrinth will invite all who walk its path to experience spiritual renewal and a deeper sense of peace. The amphitheater will provide a wonderful worship space for children, youth, and adults.

Plaza on Peachtree
We are thrilled to announce exciting news from The Buckhead CID. Phase 4 of their streetscape project has been approved and will move forward in 2026. This phase will bury the utility cables and widen the sidewalks in front of our church. This presents a rare opportunity for us to extend our visibility and hospitality by reimagining the front of our campus as a beautiful and accessible plaza. With attractive landscaping and welcoming features, the plaza will outwardly reflect the spirit within our “home.”

Endowment Fund
Our endowment fund provides long-term financial stability to the church. When a gift is endowed, the principal of the gift is invested, and the earnings support the mission of the church. Since the principal is never used, the endowment is self-sustaining, providing a steady source of income that grows over time. We currently have nearly $16 million in the endowment. Our goal is $20 million by 2030.

Welcome Home Village
In celebration of our centennial and as a gift to our community, Peachtree Road United Methodist Church is expanding our commitment to transformative outreach. One of the greatest challenges faced by formerly incarcerated individuals is securing stable, affordable housing. In response, PRUMC partnered with Habitat for Humanity and City of Refuge to open Atlanta’s first Welcome Home House in 2023—a place of stability, healing, and hope for women reentering society. Now, as part of our Centennial Celebration, we are deepening our impact by developing a Welcome Home Village—a community of four homes providing sanctuary and support for up to 20 women at a time. This will be the largest initiative of its kind in Atlanta, creating a path toward renewed independence and a brighter future. Through this project, we honor our church’s century-long legacy of generosity and service, ensuring that our milestone is marked not only by celebration but by lasting change.

Capital Reserve Fund
Unexpected expenses are a reality for any organization, and our church is no exception. When both of our chillers failed, we had to borrow funds from a traditional bank to cover the cost of replacement. With a capital reserve in place, we can borrow from ourselves. Not only does this relieve the burden of debt and interest, it ensures we are prepared to meet the unexpected with financial flexibility and stay aligned with our mission.

*ALLOCATION
The projects are listed in the order they will be funded by the Centennial Capital Campaign. If we do not meet our financial goal, then the PRUMC Board of Trustees, Finance Committee, and Administrative Board will evaluate and recommend options based on actual funds raised. The Plaza on Peachtree will only be funded if it is a certainty and we have the amount secured to move forward. Any additional funding raised above the $11.5 million will be applied to the Capital Reserve Fund and the Endowment Fund.
