Sunday Nursery

6 weeks to 3 years
8:30 am – 12:30 pm

Children’s Ministries strives to provide loving, nurturing care for Peachtree Road’s youngest members and visitors. Through the dedicated efforts of Sunday Nursery staff and volunteers, children ages six weeks to two years experience God’s love in a safe, welcoming environment. These happy early experiences lay the foundation for a lifelong faith journey.

Signs in the Children’s Building list current birthdates and room assignments. Volunteers are available to help you locate nursery rooms for your child.

  • Sign in at your child’s Nursery Room, writing your whereabouts and cell phone number in case of we need to contact you while your child is in our care.
  • Make a name tag for your child and select a security number. The number badge must be returned in order to retrieve your child.
  • Caregivers will receive your child at the door; parents should remain outside nursery classrooms.
Please remain on campus while your child is in nursery care.
  • If your child becomes ill or unhappy during the morning, the staff will notify parents via text message.
  • Please bring a disposable diaper for each hour your child will be in the Nursery, as well as a change of clothes for emergencies.
  • Label all personal items with your child’s first and last name.
  • Please provide bottles or sippy cups for church time.
  • Snacks are served to all classes except the Red Room at 10:00 am and 11:15 am. Baby food is not served in the Nursery.

For the protection of all children and workers, please DO NOT bring your child if he/ she is ill. The following criteria, suggested by the Health Department, will be used to determine when staff or children do not need to be in the nursery.

ANY of these symptoms in the past 24 hours:

  • Fever of 100F
  • Diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting
  • Undiagnosed rashes or boils
  • Ongoing cough
  • Signs of common childhood illness (i.e. German measles, Chicken Pox, Mumps, etc)
  • Runny eyes
  • Runny nose

Thank you for keeping our nursery safe and healthy for everyone. If your child becomes ill or unhappy during the morning, the staff will notify parents via text message.

All Nursery classrooms are staffed by qualified CPR certified adult workers, as well as volunteers from the congregation. Each Sunday, these low adult/ child ratios are maintained in the Nursery Rooms: Infants – 1 to 3. Toddlers – 1 to 4. Twos – 1 to 5. Additional staff and volunteers are added when necessary to insure the safety and comfort of all children.

All parents are expected and encouraged to volunteer one year in the Nursery and teach one year of Children’s Sunday School for each child in the family. Volunteers serve once a month, for a two hour shift, and may scheduling options are available. Make your volunteer commitment by contacting Children’s Ministries at 404.240.8243.
