Sunday Worship: Do Justice

Sunday, September 7, 8:45 am - 12:15 pm

Sanctuary

Rev. Bill Britt, preaching

Do Justice
-In Luke 4:16-21, Jesus reads from Isaiah and boldly declares that He has come to bring good news to the poor, freedom to the oppressed, and sight to the blind—fulfilling God’s vision of justice and mercy. This passage teaches us that following Christ means actively participating in that mission, seeking justice, compassion, and restoration in our own lives and communities. Through this message, we are challenged and inspired to align our faith with action, becoming bearers of God’s justice in the world today.

This Sunday is part of the Fall Series:

What does the Lord Require
Drawing from the prophetic call in Micah 6:8, this series explores the core values of a faithful life: doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with God. Through the teachings of Jesus and the witness of Scripture, we’ll discover that these aren’t abstract ideals—they are daily invitations to live with purpose, compassion, and unity. As we seek to follow Christ more fully, we’ll be challenged to embody a faith that is active, grounded in love, and lived out in community with others.
