Kenya Spring Team 2025

Giving and Receiving God’s Love

Our 18-member Kenya Mission Team traveled to Africa for 11 days last spring to work with Start with One Kenya, Uzima Water Filters and the Gituamba JKC School.

Because of the generosity of our Peachtree Road United Methodist Church (PRUMC) Road congregation and our Christmas Eve offering, we were able to donate 4,360 water filters. The Uzima team will spend the year deploying these filters, but we were able to put them in the hands of 570 families while we were there.

We began the week at a truly impactful worship service and were able to provide food for the congregation for the next month. We celebrated the anniversaries of Start with One Kenya (15!), Uzima (10!) and the Gituamba JKC school with an incredibly joyful celebration. We also helped with the construction of two homes that had devastating termite damage, the construction of new desks and chairs for the school, and new terrazzo flooring. We ended our trip at the Loving Hands Safe House in Gilgil, an orphanage for precious children who have been infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

It was an incredible week, and we were so thankful to give and receive God’s love through our beautiful Kenyan sisters and brothers.
