The Atlanta Chamber Players

Founded in 1976, the Atlanta Chamber Players has earned a national reputation as a pioneer among chamber groups and is widely respected among arts organizations in the Southeast. They open their 47th Season with stunning classical works by Mozart, Ravel, and Robert Schumann, including a regional premiere by the Cross-Country Chamber Consortium 2022 winner, Benjamin Horne.

The Georgian Chamber Players
Sunday, November 20, 3:00 pm, Sanctuary
The Georgian Chamber Players was formed by principal players of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1984 in order to perform masterpieces of the chamber repertoire with their Atlanta Symphony Orchestra colleagues and world-renowned guest instrumentalists. Featured works by Mendelssohn and Brahms, including Mendelssohn’s concerto for piano, violin, and strings in D minor.

This year all small groups and classes have engaged in ongoing prayer for our church and our community.  Each group is assigned one or two weeks during the year.

The Science of Renewing the Mind with Dr. Cathy Snapp

Dr. Cathy Snapp is Campus Director of Behavioral Health for the Medical College of Georgia’s AU/UGA Medical Partnership. Dr. Snapp will offer powerful tools, teachings, and practices integrating science and spirituality. Join us to:

  • Recognize positive emotion as a driver of well-being
  • Learn evidenced-based skills for building your capacity for peace, joy, love, and empowerment

Addiction Panel Event
Sunday, October 16, 5:00 pm, Grace Hall
A panel of addiction recovery professionals will discuss treatment options and recovery. The panel will be led by Neil Campbell, Executive Director of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse (GCSA). Experts will include an addiction psychiatrist, a recovery minister, an addiction pastoral counselor and executives from GCSA, iHOPE, and The Addiction Alliance of Georgia. All are welcome.

Harp’s Christmas Kindness
December 1 – 6
At our unique Christmas shop, families who qualify can select gifts at no cost to them. Our clients are surrounded by the care of loving volunteers, who help them select and wrap their gifts. In one week, over 2,100 clients are served. Harp’s Christmas Kindness is only possible through your generous donations. We have a multitude of meaningful volunteer positions at this favorite event. Sign-ups begin in October.

The Many Moods of Christmas

The PRUMC Chancel Choir, Georgia Boy Choir, soloists and orchestra present their Christmas classic featuring Handel’s Messiah, traditional Christmas hymns and moving new settings of familiar carols. This concert will open your hearts and souls to the miraculous story of Jesus’ birth. Tickets are complimentary but necessary for seating. All 3rd-5th grade students are invited to the Loft at 11:15 for this worship hour of games, music, a relevant message, and the chance to deepen relationships with Christ and each other. Each month has a new theme and September’s is all about courage: having the guts to do the right thing. We can’t wait to welcome your older elementary students to this awesome worship experience.
