Rev. Jamie Jenkins

Jamie Jenkins is our Minister of Visitation. He is a part of the pastoral care team that tends to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the congregation through visits and ongoing personal contact. Special attention is given to the homebound and when people are in the hospital or rehab facilities. In addition, he serves as needed in the worship services, and teaches Sunday School and other classes. He also plans and coordinates faith-based travel for the congregation. These various roles complement his love for people and his sharing life with them.

Jamie is originally from Mobile, Alabama but has lived in Georgia since 1972 and has served in various capacities in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He and his wife stay connected to the Gulf Coast of Alabama through their many family members who still reside in that area. Apart from his work (ministry), Jamie loves to travel and attend sporting events- especially the Atlanta Braves baseball and Atlanta United soccer.

Jamie is an ordained United Methodist minister who retired in 2014 from the North Georgia Annual Conference after 41 years of service. During those years he served 23 years as pastor and 18 years in various leadership roles in the Annual Conference. He graduated from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York. He received his B.A. degree from Bryan College, in Dayton Tennessee, his Masters of Divinity (M.Div) degree from Emory University in Atlanta, and his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) degree from McCormick School of Theology in Chicago.
